Got ready for Inktober! I didn’t need to stock up on inking pens because I have a gazillion of them, and Jehna sent me Copic markers for my birthday, so I’m unintentionally very prepped. Inktober started as the pet project of Jake Parker in 2009, and has exploded worldwide – it’s now officially partnered with ArtStation and has t-shirts and merchandise and makes drawing people on the internet Very Excited. It’s very simple: for the month of October, you have to draw one sketch in ink (whatever you desire, but ink if you’re a purist) each day.
The prompts for 2017 are attached, if you guys would like to join as well!
October was one of my favourite months of the year (aside from September, hah) when I was a kid. Not only did you get Halloween, you had fall leaves, field trips, and Canadian Thanksgiving. October still makes a soft spot in my heart (crunchy leaves, warm drinks, layers of clothing, food events!!) mostly because earthy produce starts poking out, but I have to say, November and December are creeping up to the top.
After seeing all my favourite artists praise the app, I finally gave in to Procreate yesterday and, yes, Procreate + Apple Pencil give a serious run for Wacom’s money.

I really like the 10 min sketch, Sabrina. Maybe it’s the coliur?
Thank you Linda! 🙂
