The time after Thanksgiving and before Christmas is the best time of year, because I can fully show, with no restraints, on how much I am obsessed with ugly Christmas sweaters, pretty light displays, bitingly cold weather, and over-the-top cookies. True fact: I made 19 cinnamon rolls last weekend, and they are gone. Already. I hadn’t even distributed any to my friends yet. But I do have chocolate truffles. (Please, come get them from me.)
People are generally nicer (tru scientifik fakt) this time of year. The feeling that you get after giving the perfect present to someone is only second to finding out that you just received a chocolate Babka from Breads Bakery in the mail. Or coming back to your apartment and finding out that your SO has gone on a cleaning spree and vacuumed every single inch of the floor AND washed the dishes.
Like last year, I travelled to Ohio for Thanksgiving, and straight-up breathed food for three days. Here are some of the sketches – all are done on Procreate.
