So far, I’ve crossed off several things on my Holidays Food Dessert List (I promise this is not a food blog despite my extreme gravitas toward anything edible) including: making cinnamon oatmeal cookies, pumpkin custard, amaretti cookies, and eating tuxedo cake. I also have been unabashedly blasting Christmas music while having some great hummus by the spoonful.

Speaking of food, there is an upcoming potluck and everyone had to sign up beforehand. I put “TBD” (but was actually thinking pulled pork in the slow cooker) on the sign-up sheet, because it appears that I am indecisive and like to keep everything in suspense. And after crawling the web to confirm my exact ingredients, I then bought 3 pounds of pork, eagerly came home to write what I was making on the google sheet, and SAW SOMEONE ELSE WITH “SLOW COOKER PULLED PORK” as their dish.

I squawked – I mean, hello, anyone with half a sense of clairvoyance should obviously know that TBD stands for Tender Beef-or-pork, Duh, just as LOL stands for Lots Of Love or Little Old Lady. So now I’ve grumpily had to reconsider, unless I want to make this a standing competition between who makes the best pulled pork, which, no. I’d rather eat haggis.

I wasn’t as indignant as I would have been, as it was buffered by the fact that I was at Costco a few hours earlier. One thing that you should know is that Costco and I are very miscible, just like my relationship with Williams Sonoma, except I consider of Williams Sonoma as more of an “if only” category, and Costco as a “must buy all the things.” I have no issue spending hours walking in Costco. What if I really do need that tub of peanut butter and 12-pack of lysol wipes? Or the ravioli? Or the 50,000 ft deal on parchment paper? Or that cast iron skillet??

Art-wise, I have been working on some infographics about Lung Cancer, as it is Lung Cancer Awareness month. (Will post when published.)

For my final project in class, I’m choosing to do a Sargent master copy, and have also a half-finished Sargent preparatory painting. It’s oil on denatured alcohol on paper.
