Guess what? I have TWO sketchadays for you. That’s right.
But if you call now, within the next twenty minutes, ’cause we can’t do this all day, we’ll give you a second set absolutely free. So that’s 8 shamwows sketches for –
I really did want a shamwow after I saw that infomercial. When I was younger, I would be instantly convinced by whatever product the infomercial would be selling, and run to my dad, who would also be convinced (this is where I probably got it from), and both of us would tell my mother rather excitedly about the Shamwow/Slap Chop/Snuggie that we needed to buy, NOW.
It didn’t really work out, but I kind of still want a snuggie…
For the past few days, I have been holed up at my desk watching Westworld. I had no intention of watching it (a) I thought it was a true Western, despite all its accolades, and b) I usually lose interest in TV shows by the second episode, if that), but when I discovered that Ramin Djawadi composed the score, I gave in and marathoned all 10 episodes in four days. The last episode had to be watched on a different day, because I had reached emotional saturation and didn’t have any spare.
Ramin Djawadi is my musical spirit animal. Anyone who uses augmented fourths in a melody with IV-VI-III chord progressions has my complete worship. Aughh, he’s so clever!!!!!!
My sketches: one, of Westworld, and the second is Queenie, from Fantastic Beasts, because I promised. Both are longer than the regular 30 minutes. I was trying to play around with desaturated colours for the Westworld sketch, but it was so fun that I may go back and work on it more. Could be due to the fact that I was listening to the soundtrack as well.
