We went to see the movie Friday night, and as far superhero origin movies go, Wonder Woman exceeded my expectations. Not that it was very high to begin with, because I thought it would be a Zack Snyder, pretty-colour-boom-boom film. There was actually character development (!). The fact that it was one of the few superhero movies that flew through the Bechdel test was a big plus as well. I mean, it should better pass the test, considering the movie features a female protagonist.
Also, because Gal Gadot is charming and hilarious and I have a girl crush on her (she started law school! she was in the military for two years!) and Chris Pine didn’t jump on the Centipede Abs™ wagon that other people, ie. the other Chris — Chris Pratt — did. (I miss Andy Dwyer from Parks and Rec.)
It was a good weekend.
