Hey, guys!
[En lieu to this post, I lost my finished(!) draft and now am furiously typing trying to remember what I said. Serves me right for typing directly in the post…]
I finally started Black Mirror and now understand why people call this the show that causes existential crises. I just finished the first episode — no spoilers, I promise, but it involves uncomfortable schadenfreude and the bystander effect and despite the “happy ending” (because it was the pilot), I still plan on watching the show. One thing for sure — it’s definitely not for the faint-hearted. (Um, sorry, sis, definitely not for you.)
Every time I finish an episode (Black Mirror, Game of Thrones, what have you), I have to lie comatose somewhere to digest what I’ve just watched. After which I have to look at many pictures and gifs of kittens being tucked in and puppies and babies puckering their faces as they try lemons for the first time.
And then I repeat this for the next episode.
(I’d like this segue to explain to any potential employees/graduate schools/applications that somehow landed on this page that no, I am not masochistic because I just really like good shows but they all happen to be some degree of dark. Why can’t good, thought-provoking shows be like Chef and have Jon Favreau making plating sexy spaghetti aglio e olio all the time and bonding with his son? I wonder too.)
I hope I haven’t driven you all away by my daily Inktober spam for the past three weeks. I’ve gotten some requests this past week, and they’ve been terrifically fun to do. Some favourites below:

Just wanted to say that I’m so impressed with your visual medicine graphics!! They are awesome. I love that spiky-faced inktober sketch too; makes me think of Naruto characters for some reason…
Aww, thank you! Haha, now that you mention it, I can’t unsee it…
