Hi, guys. I know I didn’t post last week, but here’s a virtual cookie as apology.
The real reason might be that I was a little occupied over Stranger Things and my last Inktobers were “Stranger Things this, Stranger Things that” and if you haven’t been able to notice, I have a slightly obsessive personality, so I polished the entire season within two days with much restraint and haven’t gotten out of that rabbit hole yet.
I also got Erin McDowell’s – the true OG baking queen – book (preordered mooooonths ago) and it’s been sitting near my desk with its alluring font and cover and pictures and every time I walk past, my fingers itch and I’m rifling through all the recipes. After this week, I’m going to be elbow-deep in flour, baking up somethings fierce. Somethings, because plural.
I’ll also be making apple pie. Which is like me saying that “I like carrots now” because I’ve been anti-apple pie for as long as I can remember. I would eat it, and it just tasted like texture indecision. Like, why would there be such a weird film coating my mouth reminiscent of some Glade wall scenter? But I saw a comment pop up on this on Sam Sifton’s Apple Pie and I was swayed. And then I bought a bunch of Granny Smiths and Some Other Firm Apple and now I’ve officially committed. Who knows – maybe I’ll be reaffirming that I still don’t like apple pie and will be further giving said pie away to my lucky(?) neighbours.
After a long time, the heart disease infographic is finally published and here it is. It was quite enjoyable to do (one of my most drawing-heavy ones), except when the text no longer aligned with the boxes because I kept forgetting to lock them down.
And here are some select Inktobers from the past two weeks. (Almost a month! Next time.) One from Charlotte’s Web, one from Arrow, a snarky one, a Bon-Iver-inspired one, and of course, two Stranger Things.

but somehow it ended up looking like both those things so I gave up and just let it be.
