Remember three months ago how I said I’d be back with blog posts with greater frequency than n > 1 month? Ha. Then medical school applications came in and they’ve, just, taken over my life. I haven’t had the chance to draw much until a few days ago, and since this is an art blog, I didn’t think that you would all want to hear me ramble on without some visual stimulus.
But I have to tell you, without fail, when I come back to art after some time, everything I draw is rusty and terrible.

Even faces.

It’s still hot as blazes outside. Starbucks sent out their pumpkin spice latte promotions late August and I have very mixed feelings about this. Pre-Labour Day I would’ve been very against anything pumpkin related, but post-Labour Day, I’m … still not … sold.
Since last time, one of our lab members competed in an Oncology Jeopardy – she was top 3! – and the entire lab went as moral support. I made a heat map of her face and we aggressively raised the posters each time a question was asked to the contestants. Although we didn’t win, we definitely won in spirit.

I also switched phone carriers and now have free Netflix, so my desires of binge-watching TV are finally coming true. The Crown, I’m coming for you.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, an Amazon original (!!?), is surprisingly fantastic. I avoided it for so long because I thought the A) title font was hideous, B) the title itself was Mary Poppins-esque, C) a few months ago, Amazon had that show with the man in the strange blue ant/beetle suit which served as a great repellent for any subsequent Amazon shows, until now.
A sketch:

Stay hydrated, you guys. Until next time.
