A huge thank you to all for the incredible responses to Women of Hopkins! My Grinch-sized heart had definitely grown several sizes. Hopefully everyone had restful Christmaskwanzanukkahs and New Years. I traveled home to Vancouver for a short while – I didn’t get to see everyone I wanted to see, but I definitely slept like the dead for the time I was there.
I always feel extremely bad for our neighbours whenever I come back home. Individually, we’re … not bad, but together, we are so loud. We’re the type of neighbours that you don’t want living next to in an apartment complex, because it’s like living next to 3 banshees with the chaotic energy of a small torpedo. (Notice that my mother is not included as a banshee, as she is a refined gazelle and seldom raises her voice.) Think of Modern Family – that’s us, limbs akimbo, someone always yelling over another person so “just LISTEN TO ME, DAD!” *** It’s very disconcerting when my sister and I laugh at the same time: two wavelengths of screeching perfectly overlapping into a godzilla shriek.
“Let me know if we’re too loud,” I had said once to one of our neighbours, after he asked “did you guys come back yesterday?”
So that was my vacation. A couple of sketches in the old and new year:
Other things: a logo for the website, and other small changes will be rolling out over the next few weeks.
*** If in doubt, please see the Hawaii posts from last year.
Until next time!
